CONNECT WITH CASEY’S CLUBHOUSE
| What is your Mission Statement | Casey’s Clubhouse fosters inclusion and connection through baseball and beyond, providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities to thrive. By expanding our impact locally and globally, we strengthen communities and support like-minded charities to create lasting, transformative experiences. |
| How are you making an IMPACT? | Casey’s Clubhouse creates life-changing opportunities for children and adults with disabilities through accessible sports, meaningful relationships, and community connection. What began as one custom-designed baseball field now serves 1200+ athletes from 70+ zip codes, offering programs that build confidence, friendships, and lifelong skills.
Our impact begins on the field. Every athlete is paired with an able-bodied peer through our peer MVP buddy system, fostering social growth, reducing isolation, and creating a sense of belonging for families who often struggle to find inclusive spaces. Athletes gain independence, communication skills, and pride through positive, success-centered experiences. Beyond the field, our Next Inning job-training program equips teens and adults with disabilities with real employment skills in concessions, operations, and customer service. Participants earn paychecks, develop responsibility, and build pathways toward greater independence. Our travel program expands horizons even further, offering unforgettable opportunities such as the Ripken Experience, Cooperstown, and the Field of Dreams. These trips boost confidence, deepen relationships, and provide families with memories they never imagined possible. At Casey’s Clubhouse, baseball is simply the starting point. The true impact is seen in the joy, growth, and possibility that every athlete carries with them on and off the field. |

CONNECT WITH FIT JUST FOUR U VIA THEIR WEBSITE
| What is the primary product or service that you provide? | Fit Just4U’s primary service is specialized fitness and wellness training for adults aged 50 and above, designed to improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall functional health. |
| Tell us why you started your business? What motivates you as a business owner? | I started Fit Just4U after retiring from a 50-year nursing career and more than 30 years as a certified personal trainer, aerobic instructor, and wellness coach. Throughout my healthcare career, I witnessed how preventable issues—loss of strength, mobility decline, chronic disease, and frequent falls—were stripping older adults of their independence. At the same time, my decades in fitness coaching revealed a critical gap: traditional gyms were not equipped to support the physical limitations, safety needs, or emotional concerns of aging adults.
Too many seniors lacked access to safe, knowledgeable, and age-appropriate fitness guidance. With my combined experience in nursing and fitness training, I knew I could bridge that gap. At age 67, I stepped into entrepreneurship with a mission to create a holistic, medically informed wellness space designed specifically for adults aged 50 and above—a place where older adults could gain strength, confidence, mobility, and hope. Fit Just4U was born to help the 50+ community age with dignity, vitality, and independence. |
| How are you making an IMPACT? | Fit Just4U provides specialized fitness, mobility, balance, and wellness coaching tailored to adults 50+. We focus on strength building, fall prevention, joint-friendly movement, cardiovascular health, and healthy aging practices that support independence and daily living.
A cornerstone of our mission is serving older adults in marginalized Houston communities. Through our collaboration with the City of Houston Health Department’s BeWell Initiative, we deliver free fitness classes, mobility workshops, chronic disease prevention education, and accessible wellness resources directly in underserved neighborhoods. Many of these seniors face significant health disparities, transportation challenges, and limited access to safe exercise spaces. Our outreach ensures they receive the support they need to stay active, strong, and connected. Our Wellness on Wheels program further extends this impact by serving homebound older adults and those who are not comfortable using virtual training or internet-based platforms. We bring equipment, personalized coaching, and mobility training directly to their homes—removing barriers related to technology, transportation, and safety. One shining example is Ms. Ann, age 82, who has been part of our Wellness on Wheels program for the past three years. When she first joined, she struggled with mobility, had limited balance, and lacked the confidence to move independently. Today, she demonstrates remarkable progress—greater leg strength, improved posture, steady balance, and renewed confidence in her daily activities. Her transformation reflects what becomes possible when older adults receive consistent, compassionate, and age-appropriate support in the comfort of their own home. Together, these programs allow Fit Just4U to meet seniors exactly where they are—whether in the community or at home—ensuring that every older adult has equitable access to fitness, wellness, and the opportunity to age with dignity and strength. |
