Announcing March 2024 Grant Recipients

THANK YOU to everyone that submitted a grant application during our most recent grant cycle which was open from December 1st 2023 - February 29th 2024. We were overwhelmed with all of the responses and to read about all of the amazing IMPACT you are having on your community. Don't forget to apply for the next round of grants. (Links are below)

So without further ado we are thrilled to announce the recipients of the $1,000 grants:

NONPROFIT GRANT RECIPIENT

This nonprofit organization serves people living with dementia, their care partners and families. The IMPACT Grant will be used directly to support their Montessori Program. This program helps alleviate loneliness by providing activities kits based on the Montessori principles including encouraging independence, while treating people with respect and dignity. We are thrilled to support this amazing cause.

MISSION STATEMENT:

We exist to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia's and to promote research . We accomplish this by:
• Promoting the rights and well - being of the person with Alzheimer' s Disease.
• Supporting the delivery of local support for individuals affected by the disease and their caregivers.
• Proving information, training and education.
• Raising funds for research.
• Promoting changes in government legislation, policies, programs and procedures when required

Our Society aims to help persons living with dementia, their care partners and families navigate the dementia journey.

This team's dedication, passion, and hard work are the driving forces behind the positive impact we as an organization make in the community. Whether it's raising funds, educating the community, supporting our clients and their caregivers, or tirelessly supporting our cause in anyway they can, each member of the ASDC team plays a crucial role in shaping the success of our organization. Their passion and dedication are truly the heart and soul of our society, and together, we have worked tirelessly to bring about positive change and contribute to the betterment of our community and for those living with dementia by being dementia champions and creating a dementia friendly community.

BUSINESS GRANT RECIPIENT

This business has an inspiring story and compelling mission. Carmella Alexander founded C.A Publishing LLC to write and publish books to raise awareness and celebrate children with a disability. They are working on launching adaptable play dolls for children with limited mobility. These dolls serve as companions and help children develop fine motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness through imaginative play. By incorporating these dolls into storybooks, the business bridges the gap between literature and play, creating a comprehensive experience for children with limited mobility.

HOW ARE YOU MAKING AN IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY

C.A. Publishing LLC is deeply committed to making a positive social impact. We
actively collaborate with organizations, schools, and community centers that
support children with special needs. We conduct workshops, author visits, and
interactive storytelling sessions to create awareness and promote inclusivity. A
portion of our proceeds is also donated to charities and initiatives that focus on
improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. We aim to develop partnerships with assistive technology companies to enhance the accessibility of our story dolls further. Additionally, we plan to collaborate with more authors and illustrators from the special needs community to create a diverse and inclusive library of books. Our long-term vision is to create a world where every child feels seen, valued, and included. C.A. Publishing LLC is a business and a movement driven by a deep desire to create a more inclusive and compassionate society. By providing engaging books, adaptable story dolls, and inclusive merchandise, we foster a sense of belonging and empower children with limited mobility to dream, create, and thrive.
