Announcing October Grant Recipients

THANK YOU to everyone that submitted a grant application during the month of October. We were overwhelmed with all of the responses and to read about all of the amazing IMPACT you are having on your community. Don't forget to apply for the November round of grants. Links are below in this email.

So without further ado we are thrilled to announce the recipients of the $1,000 grants:

NONPROFIT GRANT RECIPIENT

This nonprofit organization is on the ground working directly in the community helping homeless people with solutions and resources to bring them get off of the streets and getting them back on their feet.

SUDBURY'S CENTRE FOR TRANSITIONAL CARE

MISSION STATEMENT:

Sudbury’s Centre for Transitional Care was designed to build capacity in the social services and homelessness sectors. We provide a level of assistance that exists between acute settings and independent living.

HOW ARE YOU MAKING AN IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY

In just over two years, SCTC has developed an innovative approach to ending and preventing homelessness. We’ve acquired the agreements necessary to provide stable and affordable spaces where our members, staff and participants can facilitate and engage in programs and activities that promote wellness, recovery and basic skills.

BUSINESS GRANT RECIPIENT

Grant Recipient Announcement Business Grant

This business / organization is going to make a HUGE IMPACT on the local arts and film scene in their community. The grant committee chose this organization because of the ripple effect they believe will be achieved to a large number of smaller businesses, artists and film makers as a result of the festival.

DUFFERIN FILM FESTIVAL

HOW ARE YOU MAKING AN IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY

I am bringing more accessibility to the film industry for people who want to make their own impact and need opportunities to network, learn and further expose their work. I am also bringing further arts and culture programming to Dufferin County-a beautiful landscape for tourism but also for filmmakers. I aim to further the county’s economic development while also assisting more people with the opportunity to explore film and filmmaking.
