What is your Mission Statement? |
Empowering youth through innovative programs, Kids Give Back fosters a lifetime of engagement, leadership, and volunteerism. |
Who do you serve? What IMPACT are you making in your community? |
Kids Give Back serves multiple audiences.
- Our core programs (Summer Volunteer Camp & Kids Volunteer Days) introduce children ages 6-12 to the power and purpose of volunteering and how they can impact our community.
- We serve families who, throughout the year, can participate in volunteer service with their children at our Costumes for Kids Fall Volunteer Festival and Holiday Baskets for Babies event.
- Every project we undertake meets a need in the community. Therefore, we serve individuals throughout Northern Virginia by providing meals, snack packs, art supply kits, cards, baby supplies, Valentine's gifts, and much more.
Here is our impact since our founding in 2019:
-$30,000 invested in the community.
-Eight thousand in-kind donations prepared by children, including meals for food-insecure families, art kits forhospitalized children, baby baskets for low-income expectant parents, Halloween costumes for children who attend Title 1 schools, and more.
-1,500 individuals as young as five have volunteered at our Summer Volunteer Camps, Kids Volunteer Days, Family Volunteer Days, and other events.
-3,300 volunteer service hours.
-50 nonprofit partners who receive our in-kind donations fordistribution

How can people who are interested help your organization? |
Our small nonprofit needs sponsors, grants, and volunteers to expand our programming. We are particularly interested in offering children in low-resource communities the opportunity to experience our volunteer programs. Still, we can't do this without the financial support to hire teachers, provide free registration, and more.
In addition, we are interested in partnering with civic associations, parent groups, and schools that serve young children.

Anything else you would like to share? |
This program started in 2019 and survived and thrived during the pandemic. We never stopped offering volunteer service opportunities for young children; we just shifted how the programs were offered. We won a prestigious award from the Governor of Virginia in 2022, our Summer Volunteer Camp has been named one of the best by Northern Virginia Magazine, and we have expanded our offerings. However, there are endless opportunities to introduce young children to volunteering and endless ways to impact their mental health and build their confidence as young leaders.
We are filling a gap in our community, as many programs require children to be 12+ years of age to volunteer. And with the proper funding, we will continue to grow and impact the lives of many more individuals.
